About

Join Team JDRF as we take on the highest peak in the UK, Ben Nevis, on 17 August 2024.

Experience the breath-taking views of the Northwest Highlands with friends and family and join a unique group of JDRF supporters. Come together and hike your way to improve the lives of those living with type 1 diabetes.

The route

The route followed is the Pony Track. Approximately 11 miles (17.7km) there and back, 1,353m (4,435ft) of ascent.

Due to the nature of the route, the guides are going to impose a cut-off restriction for safety reasons. This is based on the standard Large Outdoors allowance of a maximum 10 hours to complete this walk. The cut-off location will be around the half-way lochan and anyone who doesn’t make it to that point by a certain time (calculated from the start time) will be turned back. Otherwise, the risks are too high in terms of not finishing in daylight and lengthy exposure if the weather isn’t great.
